1. Who We Are
ezapply.io ("we", "us", "our") is a resume tailoring service that uses artificial intelligence to help job seekers improve their resumes. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — your name and email address, provided via Google OAuth when you sign in.
- Resume content — the resume text or files you upload to the Service. This content is stored to allow you to reuse your resume across multiple job applications.
- Job descriptions — the job description text you provide when requesting a resume improvement.
- Usage data — information about how you use the Service, including the number of resume improvements generated and timestamps.
- Payment information — billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We receive limited billing information from Stripe such as your subscription status.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Process your resume and generate tailored improvements using AI
- Manage your account and subscription
- Send transactional emails related to your account (e.g. billing receipts)
- Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
4. AI Processing
Your resume content and job descriptions are sent to Azure OpenAI (Microsoft) for processing. This is necessary to generate resume improvements. Microsoft's use of this data is governed by their data processing agreement with us, which prohibits them from using your data to train their models.
We do not sell your resume content or personal information to any third party.
5. Resume Storage
Your uploaded resumes and generated improvements are stored securely in Azure Blob Storage and a PostgreSQL database hosted on Microsoft Azure. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — we use Microsoft Azure (storage and AI), Stripe (payments), and Google (authentication). Each processes your data only as needed to provide their service.
- Recruiter matching (optional) — with your consent, we may share an anonymized version of your profile with hiring companies to help you get discovered for relevant roles. You can opt out of this at any time in your account settings.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information and resume data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of recruiter matching at any time

9. Cookies
We use cookies solely to maintain your login session (via NextAuth.js). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying logged in.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
